Lightweight and collapsible, the Mountainsmith FXpedition monopod pole functions as both a trekking pole and a camera monopod—so you can spend less time switching back and forth, and more time enjoying the outdoors. Made of 7075 aluminum, it features four sections that collapse down to 17 inches for easier storage in your backpack or luggage. The EVA top handle can be unscrewed to reveal a ¼-20 threaded bolt that attaches to most cameras. The OLS locking mechanism allows for smooth height adjustments, while the carbide tip provides better grip on uneven terrain. Finally, the pole features an adjustable wrist strap, a removable hiking basket, and an extra rubber boot tip.
Founded in 1979 by legendary outdoorsman Patrick Smith, Mountainsmith started out making extremely durable gear built to withstand the rigors of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. This led to the development of the world’s first fully rigid backcountry ski sled, and later, the iconic lumbar waist pack. Today, the company produces a full line of outdoor products (including trekking poles, tents, and sleeping bags), at the heart of which are its technical backpacks, recognized for their comfort, stability, value, and performance.
