For casual music fans, the DAC in your computer or phone works just fine, but you need a quality digital-to-analog converter to squeeze the most out of your audio experience. With an advanced DAC chip to improve clarity and realism, the Mousai MSD192 DAC is a mighty combination of fine detail and uninhibited dynamics. To see a sound engineer's take on the device, check out LFF's review on Changstar.
The Q129 is packed with powerful processing capabilities that dramatically improve your output. Supported by three separately controlled power regulators and WIMA FKP2 capacitors, the Wolfson WM8741 DAC chip eliminates transient intermodulation distortion and noise pollution. It carries the same components and general design of the Questyle CAS192, but instead of including all four digital filters, the MSD192 only features the most natural sounding filter.
With a novel circuit design comprised of Schottky rectifiers, Nichicon FG capacitors, and 15 sets of regulators, the MSD192 provides premium conversion and voltage regulation for the outbound 192 kHz, 24-bit audio. Designed to synchronize with desktop systems and high impedance headphones and monitors, the MSD192 DAC accepts input through three ultra-low phase noise clocks via asynchronous USB transmission.
Enclosed in a solid aluminum casing, the MSD192 DAC is small yet sturdy, fitting perfectly on your desk or audio rack. Attractively designed, the device is sleek and modern, casually complementing the aesthetics of any set-up. On the front panel, a blue LED display details your input source and sample rate, giving you a convenient way to check your settings at any time. With a build quality on par with Questyle’s industry leading products, the Mousai MSD192 DAC will last many years, not only for its manufacturing, but for the top-notch technology packed inside.
