It’s hard to go wrong with a minimal Swiss-made timepiece. They’re accurate, reliable, and fit for most occasions—especially this one from Movado Read More
vacillated on whether I want the blue with black or black with brown...ended up going with the latter because I can always change the band. Can’t change the face color.
An okay offering for Movado, at least its an automatic but, this watch can be had on the web for $364 at several websites. Not a great deal really. I am very disappointed with Drop. Since their name change from Massdrop, their prices are higher and the offerings have been less than spectacular.
its funny you say that because I own nothing that mentions trump...
you all keep trying to relive 2016 and have gone insane as a result. Focus on how you can help America, rather than focusing on assassinating the character of everyone who disagrees with you.
it’s funny-I’m not even political and as a brown person, I really should support democrats because you all claim to be for minorities, but your party’s actions of late really don’t reflect that.
incredible-you’ve become the very thing you claim to hate.
hks128If you are smart, will will realize you’ve been had and stop talking.
He continues to bait and toy with you... please just stop.

Finally, I get to say good deal.
Sapphire crystal, Swiss movement & made, and a gen-pop recognizable brand.
Good proportions for a dress watch in diameter and especially thinness.
Looks like they even colormatched the datewheels.
From the pics it looks like you’ve got lumed hands and indices. Assuming it’s some form of older luminova, it should be useful.
I’d say the only thing holding this back from being a solid everyday piece is the 30m water resistance. You can pick up a tissot pr100 chronometer grade for under $300 with 100m, but it’s about a half mm thicker. On the other side, I have a bulova automatic chronograph with the same wr level and it’s taken a few trips through some rainstorms and come out no worse for wear.
Good buy if this is what you’re looking for.
Blue dial should have the tan strap, black should have black. Also, this would work better in 38mm IMHO. Not bad for the price and nice to see Movado doing more autos.
It's a nice watch, overall. But, for me, Movado means cheap department store watch. I'd prefer a Hamilton or Tissot. Maybe in a few years if the brand name improves. Too many other good watches in this price point.
tbjsMovado have several different lines, and cover lower-end, middle-of-the-road, and high-end models. I agree they may not have the best marketing around to differentiate those lines, so unfortunately, the lower-end comes to mind for many. This is exactly like Seiko, Citizen and Casio, which also have the same coverage, from $100 watches to $20,000 ones, but with people unfortunately often thinking of these manufacturers' lower-end offerings.
What do you mean? What model Hamilton? Older Hamilton Jazzmasters and Hamilton Khakis all use the ETA 2824, at the very least with the Incabloc upgrade. Don't know if there's really any difference between Etachoc and Incabloc, but Incabloc is considered an upgrade and used on the Top and Chrono grade 2824s.
Current releases of both Khakis and Jazzmasters us the H-10 movement, which is a variant of the ETA 2824 that runs at 7bps instead of 8bps - that plus a few other modifications gets it to 80 hours PR. There's at least one gray market shop online that has plenty of different options of both the Khaki and the Jazzmaster for between ~$350-500.
I wouldn't say the current Hamiltons are better, just other comparable options. It may even be argued that if you plan on keeping your watches for decades, a bone-stock 2824 like the Movado has will be easier and cheaper to keep running. Something like a Hamilton H-10 or a Tissot Powermatic 80 (same movement, as far as I can tell) will likely have to be sent back to Swatch, as those movements (and parts) haven't been made available to third party repair shops.
