I'm usually a tactile switch guy, but I'm running these on a Corne with /dev/tty keycaps and the typing experience is simply splendid. They are just heavy enough I don't mind not having the tactile feedback I usually love. Right now I'm running them stock to break them in and I can only imagine they'll feel even better once they're lubed.
These things sound pretty great. Tried them in a mercutio40, bakeneko65, and a kbd67. Sound good in all of them. Factory lube for my batch was consistent. I would not lube these. They are awesome stock. And they are pretty damn smooth. Not the smoothest, but not far from the top. Missed these the 1st time they went in GB so I had to get them when drop listed them. Happy I got them.
Also the keycaps match the switch. I didn't use them in that particular board which is the orange boi ergo. Thought it would be nice for the switch.
For the record, these are only my third set of switches.
These switches feel amazing. I was using momoka frog switches before, and they almost felt a bit too light to the point where I couldn't really feel myself pressing down on them. The weight of this switch feels great. For those who care about RGB, these definitely aren't the way to go, as they don't really have gaps to shine the light through. I had set the LEDs to a dark yellow and these make it look green. On top of that, I find these switches insanely wobbly compared to my Momoka frog V3s, especially when the key is pressed down. These are just my initial impressions, I like the feel and the sound, but everything else about them isn't really to my liking; we'll see if I'll still have them on my keyboard 2 weeks from now. Will edit this review then if anything changes.
I’m not a huge linear person, but have tried a handful of linear switches on my Moonlander. These are, by far, the thockiest linears I’ve ever heard, to the point of them being more satisfying than all of the clicky switches I’ve ever used.
Typing with them for about an hour and it’s one of the first linear switches I’ve actually enjoyed. Time will tell if it stays that way, but I really like them so far.
Minus points for a decent bit of discoloration between switches which might annoy people with transparent key caps, as well as not great shipping (decent amount of tilty pins to straighten) but overall positive first impressions.
