As an alternative, the LG 27UD58-B IPS 4K is currently on sale at Newegg for US$341.99 w/ promo code: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824025406
It's one inch smaller, but it's an IPS vs TN.

Agreed. The monoprice monitors are great and their zero dead pixel policy is a great testament to their quality and commitment. However lack of IPS is a no-go for me. I have been and will continue to wait for MP to upgrade their 4k monitors with IPS.

RisenfromthedustI've owned 5 monitors from Monoprice with zero dead pixel polices. I've returned/exchanged all 5 for, you guessed it, dead pixels (and other defects).
Most people don't notice dead pixels, and I think that's what they are banking on. With all five MP monitors I was able to spot them easily. All 5 were 2560x1440 and 27". I've owned countless other displays, even ones with lower pixel densities, from Samsung, Asus, HP, LG, BenQ, and others, and have never spotted a dead pixel (I'm not saying they weren't there, just that I didn't find any).
I know that 5 monitors is a small sample, but based on my experiences I'd say that MP has atrocious quality on their displays. My most recent was last week, this model: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=18545
Poor assembly, the monitor sags down to the right, and the stand doesn't have the monitor facing you properly. Basically the stand has to be at a slight angle to get the monitor to face you properly. There were two dead pixels that I saw immediately without looking for them. I didn't look for more as the glass was scratched/scored underneath in the upper left, which was ugly and noticeable. It was boxed up and sent back.
Either MP has horrid quality, or I have horrid luck with monitors from Monoprice. If your experience was better, I respect that. Just wanted to throw in my perspective as well.

Meh? Not bad, but definitely not great.
If one doesn't mind the screen being smaller there are a few other monitors on the market that are 4K and IPS/PLS for cheaper. The LG that was up a few weeks ago was cheaper IIRC and IPS. Again, smaller though.

wiemerimerThe LG 27UD58 is IPS and only about $50 more. I think there was a drop for that, or possibly the 27UD68 (same panel, different bezel/ports), but that was before they were on my radar.
