blah. a 144 hz display with a 4ms response time? That's like oxymoronic of each other. lol Forget g-sync or freesync, those are shitty additions to a monitor you really don't want to ever use. a 1ms response time is vital for a 144hz display, otherwise it's a waste of money.

Does this have any actual relevance? Are you trying to say something, because the ms of a refresh rate has nothing to do with the ms of the response time of the monitor. They don't even work together.
a monitors hz rate is how fast a new frame is rendered to display on the minotor.
a monitors refresh rate is how fast it can get the pixels to change after the frame is rendered.
take a good monitor like a benq xl2720z like i own. 144hz 1 ms refresh rate.
1s/144hz is 6.94ms + 1 ms = 7.94ms. So every 7.94 ms i get a crisp clear new image on my monitor.
Now take this monitor we're commenting on.
1s/144hz is still 6.94ms +4ms = 10.94ms. So every 10.94 ms i will get a crisp clear new image on the monitor.
Compound that into an actual second and the 3 ms difference becomes huge. Playing a game for hours, or even competative FPS game, you see millions of frames more than someone else with a 144hz 1ms monitor.

As long as the refresh rate is below 6.94ms (which even though it's advertised as 4ms, even the best TN panels barely hit 4ms response time when overdriven, so it's probably more like 6-7ms) every time a frame is displayed you have a total of 6.94ms to respond, and if the response time is less than that, you won't notice any blurring.
In case you're still confused, consult tftcentral or pcmonitors for more information.

savage6764You almost hit the nail on the head here, but the actual numbers are just wrong. If your monitor has a 144Hz refresh rate, it refreshes 144 times per second, or once every 6.9ms. If you have a 1ms response time on it, then it will take between 1 to 7.9ms for the latest rendered frame to be displayed (depending on when it was rendered by your GPU relative to the last screen refresh). If you have a 4ms response time, it will take between 4 and 10.9ms for that latest frame to be displayed after is it rendered. HOWEVER, your screen refreshes once every 6.9ms, NO MATTER WHAT YOUR REFRESH RATE IS. The only difference between the two is how new that displayed frame is. Granted, that is an important difference, but it is the only difference. You will still see the exact same number of frames, no matter how short the response time is.
