The pictures in this ad are a little misleading. This is not a thin laptop which is what was presented in the picture in email and at the bottom of all the other pictures. It's a thicker model.
The deal looks good in general for what you get, I'd have two concerns. MSI has historically had pretty low reviews for technical support. Two, if you order this from Massdrop you don't really have anyone between you and MSI to ask for technical help. So you might want to shop around a little before deciding. Sager (my personal choice), MSI, Asus, Dell, etc, etc.

BlueCrownedReally? I was under the impression Massdrop was here to sale stuff at bulk discount. I wasn't aware they offered tech support. I'm talking support along the lines of laptop is purchase and comes in missing pixels or the hard drive fails after a month or more use. Store Warranties are sometimes helpful here. Some vendors will offer support via swapping out the device with the same item, providing a similar item of same value, refund, etc. Not everyone will do this but when purchasing tech like a laptop you have to either be a diy techie guy (this is me) or the vendor and the manufacturing has to be able to provide you that support. Manufacture support is a mixed bag.
If I am mistaken about Massdrops tech support please point me to the terms of sales that includes verbiage specific to bad pixels, other part failures, warranty, and/or support hot line. All I could find were these details: --- RETURN POLICY - EFFECTIVE JANUARY 3, 2017 Some products purchased on Massdrop come with a manufacturer's warranty. These products will have the manufacturer warranty listed on the drop page. Products purchased on Massdrop that do not come with a manufacturer's warranty will be subject to a 30-day return policy detailed below. In the event a product exhibits a manufacturing defect or arrives damaged, Massdrop will allow members to return their product for a full refund. The issue must be reported to Massdrop Support no more than 30 days after the item is received. Claims submitted beyond this 30-day period will not be eligible for return. No replacements will be sourced. ---
I'm not in any way shape or form saying anything negative about MassDrop I'm just saying a buyer should consider those details. Tech is complex and some folks need/want that extra help.
I was mostly responding to the previous comment that seemed like a question about this deal. I myself was going to point my brother to this deal as he had recently said something about looking for a laptop in this price range. I basically told him the same thing but that he could lean on me for tech support if he needed to. Couldn't tell you how many laptops I've fixed, swapped out parts, or even soldered power supply connectors back into (Asus I'm looking at you.)
Cheers,
Robert

Robert_Z71There is a year warranty so if MSI won't help you then MD will. If you had any of the listed issues I bet they would at least offer a refund.
Robert_Z71Massdrop is known for our community support team and being able to help out the community when you guys needs us. I am always available here in the discussion and respond very quickly when people tag me in the post. Also, our community support team is great if you ever needed assistance with support from MSI.

Tex-ArozziYeah see Massdrop is awesome :D
Robert_Z71Oh, and in regards to the images. It was not done intentionally to mislead anyone. We are offering the bundle items along with the drop and the generic bundle image has that laptop. We have now updated the images to show the correct model. Cheers.
