Well this is pointless. Build a PC for the same price with a GTX 1070.

I purchased an Alienware 15 with 1060 (6gb), i7-6700, 256 SSD, 1TB HDD for the same price. And my computer is portable lol!
I built a ryzen 1600x with an 8gb 1070 for about $200 less.
This is a great casual rig, but not something anyone looking into VR should be buying.

Wow.. a 3gig 1060? It'd make a little more sense if it was the msi gaming x 6gig version but just a basic 1060 with 3 gigs? That's really disappointing and way overpriced

this price is frankly outrageous for a 3gb 1060 card. What are we paying for the MSI name?

dolusebYeah...you could build this for about half the price lol. Won't look as pretty, but it'll probably run better

Sincere thanks to massdrop, but I don't see many enthusiasts being excited by this build at this price.
It's got the gamery look without the specs to back it.
For comparison, I sources am alienate tower for 100 more then this drop that had a GTX 1080 and 7700k.
This drop needs to be imo $150 less and offer an upcharge to improve the included video card to a 1070 or 1080.

It seems like a lot of MSI drops, both desktop and laptop, always seem to include the 1060 3GB version for some reason. That's a little annoying, considering that the 3GB version not only has less VRAM but also less CUDA cores, making it less powerful. In my opinion a $1000+ desktop should have at least a 1060 6GB version, at the least. This also has a locked i7-7700 and a really underpowered PSU if you wanted to do any upgrades in the future(350W? That's tiny). Not really worth it at all.

~~GTX 1060? At a $1,150 price tag? Whew. Hard pass.~~
EDIT: Actually, I stand corrected. Throwing something very similar together on pcpartpicker actually puts this at right about $1300, so even with MSRP. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4QF9gL I'd still prefer something a little more powerful than a GTX 1060 to pair with a 7700K myself, but this isn't actually a bad price for what you get.
EDIT 2: That's what I get for rushing. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gVFnzM With the right processor and video card, MSRP drops to $1130 after rebates. Eh . . . still not a terrible price for what you're getting as a fully assembled machine, especially if you like the funky case design.

renegadeIXWhat you built in pcpartpicker is way better than what you get with this build... Probably something more like this (I even gave it a really nice case) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rLy2Ps

Ooh . . . good catch, I missed that, and the memory on the video card.
