Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a new laptop for myself, that the 1st one I'm buying and i would like to spend around 1000$, and that seems like a good deal for the price.
I think that screen is relativity FINE for the price, and that would be my first laptop so I guess i won't feel the difference..
If I'll buy it I won't spend more money on screen replacement .. So my question is do you think it would will do the job for me??
Noamp0Should be good choice for your 1st laptop. You can do a lot with a laptop with I7-7700/16gb/GTX 1060 6GB. I have the exact same specs in GS63VR (thinner) chasis. GTX 1060 has been good for my work (lots of spreadsheet & number crunching) + good asortment of Games (Overwatch, TF2) in ultra setting. I current hook it up to a 3K external display. Down the road, if you need or want, you can probably throw in an SSD . This unit shares same bult quality as MSI's GE62VR gaming line. Only difference is the non-gaming look. And, you won't find a GE62VR model at this price with GTX 1060 6G.
Howdy Everyone!
As promised I have added another drop point on the drop. The lowest drop point is now at $1079.99 if 25 people join the drop. IF we do not reach that magic number of 25 everyone in the drop will get the $1119.99 price as that drop price has been unlocked!
We are also extending this drop 1 day to give everyone a chance to take advantage of this price! This will not delay the expected shipment time.
Cheers.
Thanks for the sharing.
Your recommendation is to back off? I'm realy on the edge here..
That rig is good, but if the screen isn't good enough I think I'll pass on that.
Noamp0The screen will be fine if you're upgrading to this from a system with an old screen. But if you've used an actual IPS display, you'd be put off by it. I know people who use the best buy model with the bad display, and can't seem to tell the difference if it's a bad screen. It all depends on your experience. Like they say, ignorance is bliss.
My recommendation is to get this laptop, and then switch the display panel (which is not extremely difficult) to a good panel. You can buy said good panel at laptopscreen.com, or similar sites for about 50$. But if you're okay with the mediocre display (I say mediocre because this laptop has the Best Buy Stealth -001 panel. The stealth -252 model has an even worse panel that's actually TN. This one's at least IPS)
Good morning Everyone,
Just a reminder I have another drop point that I can add that will give everyone in the drop another discount once enough people join. We just need a few more and I will add it!
Cheers.
DesgardesThis product will be shipping from the US. Anyone outside of the US is responsible for knowing your countries import fees/taxes. Massdrop does not know this information and has no control over it.
Imago_Dei I replied to another comment so I'll just paste it here:
The panel type is technically IPS, but is is VERY BAD. I repeat, very bad. This is listed as the same panel which the terrible Best Buy model of the MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro-001 and -242, have. The other models of the same laptop have a much, much better screen. It has very low color gamut, brightness, and is overall just a very bad screen that looks like a TN panel.
Here's an image of the SAME laptop, left is the one with the "94% NTSC WIDE-VIEW PANEL" and the other has an actual IPS-Level Panel: http://imgur.com/a/HB4UP
Can anyone confirm that we won't have to remove/flip the motherboard to install the SSD? I know the PE60 isn't like this, but I believe some of the other thinner MSI models make you do that. Thanks.
