Argh, why, msi?! Why must you eternally frustrate me with 4k screens and underpowered gpus?! I've got a 1080ti that can barely handle bf1 max settings and I know the 1060 would be seriously underpowered for actual gaming. I understand budget, etc, but msi, please.

HellreaverNot just them. All manufacturers seem to sell these weird laptop combinations, ever since 970m or so, with 4K. Seriously weird decision. Esp. since buyers who don't know much will think the laptop they bought for a lot of money isn't good for any gaming.

HellreaverYou could downscale your screen to 1920x1080, it might look a little weird though.

RettigJIt would look fine, just blurrier than you're used to. But I personally think it's a stupid compromise.

HellreaverI couldn't agree more. When I bought mine back in April the only model I could find in stock at the time was the GT73VR with a 1080 and a 120Hz 1080 screen. It was a little bit pricier than what it should've been but everything else had 4k screens. It makes no sense to me at all.

jhowell1030I, for one, will take a higher refresh rate over a higher resolution.. It's worth it.

MegaFighter_XDefinitely don't need a 1080 to drive a high refresh 1080p screen tho. A 970 would do that.

MarginalSCAbsolutely. 1080 will push more detailed frames faster.
But if I had to make a choice between a 4k 60 htz display or a 120+ htz 1080 display, I'd go with the higher refresh rate.
