This seems overpriced for the specs and weight. I've been very impressed by my Paria outdoor silnylon tarp - its cheaper, lighter and larger. I don't see how this tarp is better in any way.
brown9The Paria products compare very well and I've seen good reviews. The Paria, from their own specs are slightly heavier though: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1095/7170/products/Paria_Outdoor_Products_Sanctuary_Siltarp_-_Product_Image_1_1024x1024.jpg?v=1547244719
Paria is likely sturdier being 30D silnylon. Also the Paria as you mentioned has more coverage, and another thing, the Paria is a more typical rectangle as opposed to the slightly hex-shaped (center-line slightly longer than the sides) MSR. Between these 2 if I had to pay full MSRP there's no doubt I'd go with the Paria. Oh, I like the Paria colors too.
I contacted customer support and asked:
"On the listing of "MSR Thru-Hiker Wing Shelters" there is confusion as to whether or not the tarp includes stakes and guy lines. Could someone please clear that up? Thanks, Richard"
This is the response I received:
"Hi Richard,
Thanks for your patience! After speaking with my team it looks like this Drop includes 6.
