I was curious to see what cracking one of these random boxes for value would look like, and used Dawnglare's set value for prices. For BFZ and OGW I used the value with Expeditions included, FRF with fetches, and DGM with Shocks, being as charitable as possible.
Without taking the distribution into account, the mean doesn't look that bad at $105.44, while the median is $81.80. However, the weighted average is $71.09, and the weighted median is a dreadful $55.55.
Boxes with EV<=$55.55: 48% Boxes with EV>=$109.99: 12%
Then, using the box prices listed on MTG Goldfish, the weighted average is $112.93, while the weighted median is $84.99.
Boxes with price <= $84.99: 45% Boxes with price >= 109.99: 17%
Good luck to everyone participating in this drop, but it doesn't look like a deal to me.
