If you're going to spend money on a repack or lot like this, you're better off paying the $10 for a masters set pack. Even the crappier sets have a better chance of getting money out of them than the $0.15 rares and the $3 walker you're going to get out of this.

prplprinceexcept many folks get this for the experience of "fancy booster cracking" and to get 10 cards that are generally going to be MORE playable than a dozen commons. random rares are great for deck ideas/starts and other non-planned creative endeavors :) Dont buy it for VALUE, sure, but its probably OK from a fun perspective :)

leovaDon't act like this is anywhere near cracking a pack. A pack is at least honest about what's in it and has a chance to have an EV greater than the price tag. These things are all packed with less value than the price tag. Sure, maybe a few packs have a random $5 rare or two, maybe even a planeswalker with ~$10 in value, but 99.9% of the packs are going to have penny rares.

Caucasianand how is that different from most other boosters? I bought 2 packs of GRN the other day, one had a dollar rare and the other had an even bulkier bulk rare - and the rest of the cards themselves, while not "bad", weren't particularly great or evocative save for a couple. And heck, the Masters boosters are the same thing - except at $10. There is no real chance of any value stuff here, of course, but at least the fact that they are all rares/PWs makes them 99% more playable than 2-mana 2/2 commons

leovaFirst off, a sealed booster pack from WotC has an EV that is backed by market prices, so you know the average value per pack. Masters boosters, take mm17 for instance, had fetches, lilis, goyfs, snaps etc. You have a quantifiable chance of pulling those card. This is a repackaged product where the cards going in are gauranteed to be less than $10, otherwise they would make no money. WotC does not care about the value of their cards on the secondhand market.... but drops like this do.
Also, if you're looking for a specific playable card, you buy the singleton. No one is doing these thinking "I hope i find a rare i can throw in my modern/standard deck" (hopefully...)
Lastly. 2 mana 2/2s see play pretty damn often.

leovaHope I'm not reiterating what Caucasian is saying here but these repacks of rares will net you cards that that seller has sitting in a box that no one wants. Granted most of the commons and uncommons from any set are unwanted but opening a masters pack and getting a $2 uncommon that's played in modern and a $30 rare is possible vs the almost guaranteed at best 0.50 cent rares and $3-$5 planeswalkers.

prplprincei mean, yeah, you kinda are reiterating, but that's fine - what's also fine is that some folks go into these with the FULL knowledge of that, and that's also fine - if that's what they want. Again, there are THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of cards in MTG's history, and one person can't possibly know about all of them - so to get a mixed pack of 10 Rares/PWs is often times going to net someone interesting cards they didnt even know existed. Again, youre not buying for Value - you're buying for MYSTERY and OPTIONS and PLAYABILITY. And by you, I clearly mean "me", but whatever :P
