When selecting a linear mechanical switch, a high-quality housing material is crucial in protecting the clean, consistent travel of that switch from the top to bottom. Mxrskey has taken a borderline obsessive approach by building the housing of the new Skyland Linear Mechanical Switches in three materials. The upper housing is molded in solid polycarbonate, while the bottom is built with nylon. The stem is rounded out with a resonant POM material to ensure just the right amount of give and rigidity. It all houses a two-stage, 20-millimeter spring for satisfying travel and a light-to-moderate 45 grams of required actuation force. For long-lasting linear action, all Skyland switches are all factory pre-lubed and tested to withstand up to 50 million actuation cycles.
