Lostdog54I guess they aren't going to reply here but you probably got the "wait 30 days and see what happens" email from them. If you're tired of waiting, Steep & Cheap has a few of these models at about the same price, plus around $8 shipping, and in stock.
Can anyone provide feedback on the waist fit of the s/m womens packs? I have a cow of a time finding pack waist belts that fit my small waist properly, even the so called 'womens fit' ones. I fall in the small category but the fact that's lumped in with medium concerns me.
Wish the Front was dropping too. I looked at the Frazier a few weeks ago on the closeout page of MR. Impossible to find reviews or inside pictures, pack features anywhere of the Frazier. Odd for a MR pack?
Good to know! It's interesting how many MR packs I've found in Google images that are only marketed for Japan and I think dang, why don't they offer those here!
I prefer 500d cordura or similar for packs, and the only thing holding me back about the Cairn or Frazier is the material. I still wish I'd picked up a sweet pea before they discontinued it. So many MR packs that were popular and no longer made. The newer ones that are worthwhile are definitely geared towards specific activities: the hunting packs, SAR, military, etc. Definitely disappointing to see MR send so much of their bag manufacturing overseas, but that's the nature of the business I guess. Not sure I like the direction the son is going, but it's not my company so :)
mayorblurpsRobic is pretty dang durable even though it's thinner than the lighter Cordura choices. Cordura does almost last forever, though. Robic uses nylon 6-6 which is more durable to begin with than the typical nylon 6, and then they do some magic processing to the fibers. It's good stuff, smart engineering that reduces weight while keeping qualities that are important. I think the move to offshore manufacture was inevitable and Dana resisted it for the longest time, but it just got to be where there is no way to stay price-competitive. At least they picked the good factories in Vietnam, like many other pack makers have. I don't know if Mystery Ranch could really get into the light/ultralight market now and add anything appreciable other than copying what has already evolved. They found their niche and it's doing well for them for sure. Same with Mountainsmith but I've always wished they would put some dedication into ultralight.
Traviscwv This is an ongoing issue with Massdrop. I think they may have fired their photographer or scaled up so much they can’t take product photos any more, but for stuff like bags, we really need them, especially since manufacturers won’t do it either.
mfolchI now see that it's the women's Cairn, which is the only one here with the 3-zip design. Massdrop should have more photos of that pack. The prices on these packs are insanely discounted.
