Is there expanding room under the lid to pack additional gear on top of the main compartment? 62 liters is the lower limit of my volume needs, so I am wondering how likely it is to squeeze another 10 liters out of this pack under the lid and/ or with accessory pockets.

MR gear is great! Very well made and durable. I use one of their commuter packs every day and it’s tough. I do not have this pack specifically but when my Gregory gives up I’m going to a large MR pack. You will sacrifice some weight but gain some serious quality. They have a good selection of packs as well so do some shopping. They are worth full price to get the right pack.
