In my mind, an urban pack should have a quickly accessible pocket or two that can be accessed while holding the pack in the air without having to set it down as you would with this one. With this one, you would have to lay it down and spread it open, even getting the back and straps wet. If you live in the rainy NW, you would be setting it down on a wet park bench or the wet ground all the time. In the urban area I live in, that wetness might even contain human urine, sadly!
Secondly, I think a pack should not weigh more than what you plan on putting in it. Seriously at 2.8 pounds, this Is heavier than what I would be carrying around in it on most days. There are plenty of packs at half that weight that would carry as well and be plenty durable.
