Will this Namisu ship on time? Just got an email saying the Stonewashed Titanium will be delayed, with no ETA...

Theroc - Now that you pointed that out, I see that the diameter toward the nib isn't that much smaller. Looking at a photo without the cap alongside, it appears much less tapered. How do you like the pen @Theroc ?? I do love the look of it. I have been looking into the different copper pens/manufacturers. Definitely would like to find the right one when the times comes.... ( However, I just joined the Ensso PIUMA brass and waiting for delivery of two customs from ASA , so not joining this particular drop. )
The Pilot MR uses a bladder converter which you squeeze. The Namisu comes with a piston converter which you twist. Almost everyone who has more than one fountain pen prefers the latter. I think it's very easy to fill. You can also use cartridges with the Namisu which are basically foolproof.

Can anybody comment on the thread fit of the cap? Specifically, compared to the TT Gist, or any of the Karas models. Looks like a good price for an all-copper #6 nib pen.

Thanks for your response! Mostly wondering how smooth the threading is, and whether it's double/triple helix.
I've got one of the copper Tactile Turn Gist pens. The cap is single helix, two rotations to remove. Since the cut of the threading is single helix, you have to position the cap carefully before it will thread onto the body; usually requires rotation backward until you feel it seat onto the threads, then screw it on... The threads are quite chunky, and it took them a while before the cap operated smoothly. My wife uses a Karas Kustoms Ink. Threading is triple helix, so the cap will screw on from *any* position. The the threads are super tight; you can spin the cap like a top, and it will lock down almost too tight to remove. Very, very smooth.
Since capping/uncapping a pen is something I do basically all day, I was curious how the cap feels. =) Definitely joining this one; the pen looks fantastic, and the price is certainly right. Very pleased that you stuck with the standard #6 nibs!

Yikes, that is a bummer. It is a good looking pen. I am often hesitant when the grip tapers down without a bit of a dip/curve near the nib. Especially with heavier pens, makes gripping, slipping and fatigue a problem for my hands. I have seen various posts from others that sanding or other means of scuffing the grip section helps with ability to grip ... Not that one should "have" to do that to a new pen, but wondered if anyone has done this with a Namisu Orion ? Thanks for the feedback @katerchen

You must be referring to the Keweenaw in da UP! Such a beautiful place, but all that remains of the copper mining are ghost towns and abandoned mining equipment. Haunting and intriguing at the same time!

Anyone has this pen and would like to comment on it? I'm thinking weight, facility of writing, development of patina over time, etc.
A while back direct from Namisu, it was on sale. A really tempting sale.

BobrazThanks for all the comments and insights. @cagenuts@Theroc@katerchenDecided to pass on this one, and hope for the titanium version, because titanium and because weight.
