Anyone have any information as to how waterproof the waxed grey version is?

agp54Hi Agp54,
The waxed mainstay isn't fully waterproof, but it's definitely water resistant. When water is spilled on it, the water beads up as opposed to soaking through the canvas. It isn't made for an outdoor activity, but should keep your stuff dry when stuck in the rain!
