I have no idea why this drop is closed to Alaska/Hawaii. "Escalated" shipping rates? WTH? USPS Flat Rate is the same price to ship to AK/HI as anywhere else in the US (even Puerto Rico). And we're used to paying additional shipping fees anyway.
Hell, I bet everyone in AK/HI would be thrilled to have the option to pay an extra $5 or whatever, to have ALL their drops *actually* shipped with USPS instead of that gawdawful FedEx Smartpost service, where every single package to AK sits in Kent, WA for a minimum of a week (after driving all over the lower 48 first).
It’s lithium ion and plenty of it. I doubt they can send USPS Priority. Ground only. I’m from Anchorage.
USPS air shipping restrictions are actually pretty lenient for batteries installed in equipment with all the safety features this says it has... But I'll be damned if I can find the exact specs on the internal battery itself, even on the mfr's site. Ahh well. https://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52c3_027.htm?q=349.11&t=H&s=R&p=1&c=Pub52
My point stands for drops of clearly non-hazardous items though. I have a package that hit Kent on the 28th, and it's not scheduled for delivery until the 10th. 🙄 (I'm in Fairbanks.)
Your right a lot of carrier will not air ship. I would think if snail mail is available it can be shipped
