According to a review on candlepowerforums, the proprietary battery is two 18650 cells which are wired in *parallel* for 3.7 volts 4400mah. Having a proprietary battery is a deal-breaker for me. The review also notes that the switch has a "momentary" position at half-press which is full brightness. So even if your first mode is dim, you will get a quick flash of full brightness every time you press the switch. Also a deal-breaker.
