Got mine today. Fairly disappointed. The implication is that it spreads light 360 degrees, but in reality only the tip lights up. It is effectively a flashlight covered in white plastic. The sides do not light up and you need to attach it to something and aim it at whatever you want to light up. It is not as effective at serving as a lantern as the name implies. First time I've been disappointed in a Massdrop purchase.
I think it does the mini-lantern thing so-so.
My biggest issue was turning it on effectively. I feel it's too cumbersome to turn on in a snap.
There are youtube videos that review the light pretty well. Did those videos somehow not meet your expectation? I think the best part is the softer spill.
I typically only use MD and it's users for reviews but sometimes I buy completely blind. Like this light. Only if reviews are bad will I look it up. Otherwise I'll buy to try.
The vibration motor was not working properly for mine
Just the tip, yep promise anything.
Why would anyone be surprised that just the tip lights up since the battery takes up most of the little lamp? I don't know how you'd light it up around the battery, itself, so it only makes sense to me that the tip would be the only part that lights up.
