TPeterson13No kidding this thing is on Amazon prime for 17.83 one day shipping. I want to support Drop but how can I pay a dollar more for 25 day shipping!?

TPeterson13Comments like these made me groan months ago, and there seems to be no end in sight. I would not blame Drop for deleting them as spam.

LeoangerWhy, if they are true? I just bought it from Amazon for $17.83 w/ free shipping and I will have it day after tomorrow and can return it if needed. These comments don’t seem to be hurting them too bad with over 1000 sold so far.

truizThey just seem terribly inappropriate. Why come to this site and tell people they can get a better deal at some mega-retailer? People will either shop here or they won't, and if a price or ship time feels a bit much, it takes but a few keystrokes to find a better deal. And 'better deal' is subjective. Some people would rather avoid giving their money to Amazon or Walmart even if it means passing up a cheaper deal.

LeoangerOk, I guess I do see your point. I would imagine Drop knows what it’s selling for elsewhere too. Thanks for explaining.

truizThanks for the civil comments. Sometimes I take on a passive-aggressive tone getting some silly thing off my chest, but I recognize it doesn't contribute to a better collective online experience.

LeoangerI actually really appreciate "comments like these." I think it's because I remember a time in the not so distant past when MASSDROP had the best deals around. I used to be more than willing to wait on shipping because I knew I was getting a product at a fraction of the price it cost elsewhere. Unfortunately, it seems that actual "deals" are few and far between around here these days..

DSH007Nothing wrong with appreciating such comments for what they're worth; I just think it's a little tacky to post them. Anyone who lurks here and buys occasionally should have a good idea of what kinds of deals can be found, and since a little research on a product is usually beneficial to the potential buyer, it's easy enough to do their own price comparison while they're at it.

LeoangerI’ve been shopping here for several years and have probably made around 30 purchases. Maybe more. This site used to have the best deals, unique gear or partnerships you could only find here, or obscure really cool stuff that you’d be hard pressed to find elsewhere or even be aware of. That is no longer the case. They are a straight product amalgamator that harvests junk “deals” now and people should be made aware. I said “cheaper elsewhere” because it was available cheaper on several other reputable vendor sites besides Amazon or Walmart. The business model has changed here and it’s unfortunate. Sorry if you find it tacky to be reminded of that.

TPeterson13I don't think people need to be made aware of Drop's downhill slide. The regulars can see it plainly enough (and still find the occasional deal or compelling Drop exclusive), and newbies will learn relatively painlessly. This is still Drop.com, and whatever your views on capitalism their model seems to be working well enough for them. If they continue to ignore complaints and suggestions, the business will suffer eventually.
