This is an excellent prime lens. I sold mine because I didn't think it was as good as the older 1.4d But I did get the 1.8G I really think the f1.8G is sharper at f/2.2 and above. So if you do not shoot wider than f/2.2, save your money and get the f/1.8G version. The price here is fair. But I "think" I've seen it for this pride or less when Nikon runs a sale.
