Please bring this back with a better deal than last time, a refurbished D500 body directly from Nikon is 1699.99 so I hope it wouldn't exceed this for the body only.

Not even a hundred dollar savings on gray market over American warranty. I'm starting to wonder at massdrip. They don't seem to actually be providing deals of any sort. This is not even close to a deal.
Currently on a popular site for cameras, the D500 is selling for 1796.95 body only, which is the same price for the D750. Personally I'd rather have the Full Frame.

Thanks again for joining this drop! We have submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Nikon D500 DSLR w/ Optional Lens and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 11/8.
We will keep the group updated throughout the fulfillment process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 10/27.
If you have any questions, please visit our Help Center (http://massdrop.com/helpcenter).

Definitely grey market. As stated, overpriced for grey. Nikon will not do any warranty repairs and that is one of the key reasons to buy Nikon, especially with expensive DSLR. Original versions of this camera had problems....

Don't have it easily at hand. Either NikonRumors or PetaPixel has posted 3 or 4 vendors in the last month who are selling it right around $1500. The lowest was something like $1489.99 or some nonsense, which is $1500 in my book. I'm sure if you look through both of their feeds, you'll turn up a couple of sources.

It says "International Spec" so it must be a gray market camera. That means the pricing is absurd! They want $1700 for a gray market camera that you can get from other vendors for $1500.

So this means that this is Gray Market?

I have been traveling/living overseas since the 1970s so the bulk of my camera equipment is grey market and I have no hesitation in buying such products. And I either buy when I am overseas, or I buy from US-based sellers, depending on price and availability. I also saw this Nikon D500 being sold for under $1500 but the price has now risen to $1680 (still with free shipping though). If you "have yet to come across a reputable vendor" as you said, then Massdrop's buyers are either too inexperienced or inept. Here are some additional prices for comparison -
Nikon SB-5000: Massdrop lowest price=$470+$8.25 shipping., Reputable seller=$419 with free shipping Fuji XF 27mm : Massdrop was $310 plus shipping. I paid $180 with free shipping for mine Remember those neoprene easyCovers for cameras? You can buy those all day long from other sellers at LOWER prices than through your drops and receive them in just a few business days.
I could go on and give you more examples but the point is, many of these reputable sellers have been in business far longer than Massdrop has. Clearly, THEIR buyers know what they're doing.
The whole purpose for a group buy is to attain product(s) at a lower price than a sole buyer would otherwise be able to obtain by himself/herself. As such, people are more willing to wait if the price makes it worthwhile. However, the majority of your drops just aren't attractive from this standpoint and those of us who are educated consumers know how to properly research products and which reputable sellers to obtain these products from.
