Be aware of the easily activated switch. A light touch is all it needs to turn on. I’d be in for one if it didn’t have that switch. Nitecore even recommends to slightly unscrew the battery cap when not in use.

"...store your Nitecore Concept 1 in any easily-accessible small space." Would an appropriate small space be one where the sun does not shine?

Description says: Head Size: 0.96 in (24.5 mm), is this the diameter? It appears that this does NOT come with a battery or charger, correct? From what I can find on the internet, this light works best ONLY with the Nitecore battery. I have several 18650 batteries, why won't they work (as well)?

ccpedalerNitecore flashlights are meant for use with button top 18650 cells. Sometimes a flattop will work but not always. I have a Nitecore EC20. I lost my Nitrcore button top battery and only one of my flattop 18650s will work in that flashlight. There are some work arounds like stretching/expanding the springs or thin magnets.

ccpedalerSome protected 18650's won't work as the LED draws up to 8A and the older protection circuits will kick in and the light will automatically shutdown. As indicated below, it's perhaps easier to use unprotected NCR, ICR or IMR's that draw 10A or more. But, according to CPF, button- and flat-top batteries will work... assuming the protected cell can draw up to 8A. https://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?435252-REVIEW-Nitecore-Concept-1-(C1)-Flashlight I have personally found that my high-drain Zebralight and Lumintop lights are a little more picky about battery length (my protected 18650 batteries are too large and don't fit anyway) so try to google the suggested battery. I run both the highly regarded, Sanyo NCR18650GA 3500mAh 10A and the Samsung 30Q 18650 3000mAh 15A in my high-drain lights with no issues. Google "Battery University" or check out 18650batterystore for more info about different Li-ion chemistry and best-practices. Another tip from CPF: If the drop proceeds and you pick up the light, be sure to lock it out when not in use. Apparently, the switch is quite sensitive and some have discovered the light turns on in pockets / holsters resulting in burned holsters and / or hands.
