How much force is required to press the buttons on top? I've had lots of problems with headlamps drained by getting activated in my pack. In the past I've resolved this by sculpting a protective bezel around the buttons from sugru. I'm concerned that this design has the buttons prominently proud of the upper surface. I see that it has a lockout mode but I've had issues with electronic lockouts - if the pack gets leaned or set down such that the buttons are pressed, it's often for long enough to deactivate the lock.

shuttercatDoesn't take a wild amount of force to press, but you have to get both down within a second of each other. Haven't had any problems with it in 2 months of trail.
That said, the nu20 has a cover on the frame that blocks the button, but lacks the red light setting
