Many of the negative reviews on Amazon refer to the battery draining quite a bit when the lamp is not being used, or when it's been stored for awhile.
Anyone experienced this?
My Black Diamond AAA lamp with regular alkaline batteries has been stored for several months at a time, (winter, between trips), and always fires right up when I need it.
The idea of having to remember to charge my headlamp before every trip seems like it would add undue complication to an already involved process.
MrknotI have a bunch of Nitecore products and can say that they do have a heavy drain. I have all the ones with removable batteries and if I don't unscrew the battery cap slightly they will drain like no tomorrow.
MrknotI have not experienced significant idle battery drain, but I use mine frequently, so I may not have noticed. It does charge very quickly, and the features-to-weight ratio is incredible. That said, it's only a few dollars more on Amazon and it's available with Prime one-day shipping (at least in the US).
MrknotMine stays charged for at least 3 months. Lithium battery can hold charge for months or even years. However, in mass production there will be some bad batteries escaped detection. As long as the factory takes care of it there should not be a problem.
J.LarkinsAs an FYI, i've dealt directly with the factory in China for an issue with a different Nitecore light i've had for a while. They were very responsive and communicative (with not-too-faulty English, even). They had me send it back and tested it and returned it at no cost to me other than the shipping to them. It was just one instance, but A+ service in my case.
