Just put in my order - would be good for geocaching. Just wondering about a couple of things: Looking at the list this wouldn't come with 18650 batteries? Following on, does this support flat top batteries? First time picking up a proper flashlight that isn't the classic dolphin flashlight from the hardware store. :P

I really, really like this light, even though mine is the older version with less main output and no UV lamp. It’s been my truck light for years. The smooth ramping UI is outstanding and I wouldn’t completely dismiss the other modes. The “police warning” mode (alternating red and blue strobe) is a particularly comforting feature to have if you’re ever broken down or need to render assistance to someone else on the side of the road. Just set it on the back of your vehicle pointing towards the oncoming traffic and increase your visibility many times over. This is on my ‘definite recommend’ list.

This is making me consider getting a 18650 charger and rechargeables. Anything I should consider?

phoenixsongNitecore’s high capacity 18650s have been excellent for me.

This is a nice light. The variable ring is the standout feature. The others are just kind of gimmicky buy can be useful in some situations. The throw is pretty good for a single 18650 torch. The UV light isn't bad but could be better. All in all a good all around light.
