I've been looking for a nice compact flashlight with a high lumen value. This looks good and all, but I'm concerned about how hot the head gets as I'll most likely be carrying it in my pocket on and off. I know that with a high lumen output the heat is inevitable, but I don't want to burn myself everytime I pocket it after >1hr of use.
These lights are awesome, but...
If @hearf or others are interested in similar quality but a smaller package, check out my "Programmable Flashlights" poll. The Hexbright packs one XM-L2 LED - the same these use - into a compact package more like a tactical Surefire. Except it's also got an Arduino-compatible controller and is completely programmable.
We actually have a sample unit in the office right now. Really cool FL, one example of what you can do is program it to change brightness depending on the angle of the light. So full brightness when pointing forward to the horizon and as you point closer to your feet it gets dimmer. Here is a poll for the different colors: https://www.massdrop.com/vote/hexbright-flex--choose-your-color. Hopefully we can launch in July, depending on inventory from Christian (Creator).
Is this how to make a successful drop, divert attention to another subject.? At least let the drop close before drawing everyone away to something else.
This drop is already a runaway success, the Hexbright is in a completely different product category, and someone asked about that category.
