This might be a stupid question...but Nitecore TM11 advertise as in their website "capable of using 1x18650 or 2xCR123 in emergencies".. does that mean it also can use lower output batteries like AA? If I use only standard AA, what's is expected output for TM11...?

cutebunnyAA batteries won't fit in the flashlight without modifications as they're too short individually, and too tall when stacked. Also, the circuitry in the flashlight may not allow it to switch on when the voltage is too low.

cutebunnyThe tm11 has three slots for batteries. If you install only one slot it will only use one led lamp. 2 it will use 2, 3 will use all of them. It is meant so that you don't need all slots filled to get the light to work. It won't run at full capacity however.

tyler555You're thinking of the Zebralight S6330 (discontinued). The TM11 has 4 battery slots and regardless of the number of batteries inserted, all the LEDs will light up.

LucentWhat Lucent said is correct. But you will not be able to access the full brightness with less cells unless they are designed for high drain capabilities.
