What's the difference between this and, say the ASUS MG279Q aside from aesthetics?
It seems like all the specs are the same and line up too.

idarerickYou will most probably have shittier colors, backlight bleed and a bad freesync range (35Hz-90Hz) with the ASUS. If you can get both for the same price or almost, go with the Nixeus. They know what they're doing.

idarerick Nixeus makes the best 144hz, 1440p gaming monitors.

idarerickI haven't heard great things about the BLB on that monitor, and the EDG 27 has a larger Freesync range.

Crigaas@gravufo Just sold said ASUS to upgrade to the Nixeus because of these comments so thank you guys - previously had the ASUS for about a year now - I bought one pretty cheap knowing that it had dead pixels so I did a quick RMA - just had to wait a bit for the new replacement to come in -- but on another note one can definitely find better deals elsewhere than here
Just a comment - never really had an issue with BLB on the ASUS, but felt it was a worthy time to upgrade

idarerickIn hindsight, I regret buying the EDG. The ASUS actually had the exact same freesync range as the Nixeus and is actually the exact same panel model.
Now I have to deal with the flickering from the EDG

idarerickThe EDG does still have a better Freesync range, I’m not sure where you read that they’re the same. The flickering you’re experiencing happens on a bunch of monitors, including Samsung’s top end Freesync one. The easy fix is just to temporarily disable Freesync, as much as it sucks to have to do so. At least it only takes 2 clicks to disable it. What GPU are you using by the way? I’ve seen that Vega has pretty much zero flickering issues, while some older cards have a few issues.

idarerickI know that AMD was able to fix the issues with flickering on Vega FE, so I would hope they can work to get it fixed on the Polaris cards. I find generally that turning off Freesync when I'm having issues doesn't change the smoothness of the monitor though. And with the newest AMD drivers all you have to do is hit Alt+R, than click Freesync, and turn it off.
