Adding/Including Memories
I lost my dad last year (2023) and have been finding ways to include keepsakes/memories in my workstation. I've dabbled here and there with doing small woodworking projects and attempted a wrist rest from a piece of oak I picked up with him from my great uncles wood shop. I milled it to fit a 60% keyboard as I hadn't decided what keyboard I would be using it on and thought that's where most of my wrist would be in contact even typing on a full keyboard. I gave it a torched/burn appearance as I really was lost in what to do. I found an old shell casing from going hunting with my dad in my hunting pack and decided to imbed it into the end of the wrist rest so it would just have a little difference and a small story behind it as well. I have other things around my workstation from family and friends, but it just feels a little more special having worked on it and adding something small that has a memory for me to it. There's been no technical faults with the mouse, but I would personally prefer some thicker feet. I was using a DM1 Pro as my main mouse previously, and I would say the Revel trumps it in every other regard apart from the mouse feet. The DM1 pro feels easier to move on my mouse pad with less drag. The feet on the Revel aren't terrible, but it feels like it drags a bit more and is less smooth when I'm making fast motions.
Apart from the feet however the mouse feels like an overall step up in quality from the original DM1 Pro. The scroll wheel feels better, the side buttons are definitely nicer and the clicks feel more satisfying to me. Obviously the sensor is also an improvement going from a 3310 to a 3360 which is probably the most notable feature of the mouse. It also feels very slightly smaller in the hand to the DM1 pro which might be more noticeable depending on how you grip the mouse.
Overall I'm very happy with the Revel, just let me know if any improved feet become available and I will be on them in a heartbeat.
