Nixon is known for its affordable and stylish quartz watches, but the company kicks things up a notch with the Supremacy: a 40-millimeter dress watch powered by an ETA 2824-2 25-jewel movement. Made up of slim markers and hands—and absent of numerals—the Supremacy is an exhibition in minimalism Read More
Nice and simple watch, a little bit bulky ( thick bezel ), definitely casual.
Strap is ok with a beautiful brushed butterfly clasp.
For those looking for a $200 watch with a 2824 and don't care about the brand.
IIRC, the Supremacy is at Nixon's higher end - I wonder how much time was spent regulating the movements. I've seen other, more fashion leaning makers who make their automatic/sapphire/Swiss model and I wonder the same if they spend that extra energy/time.
GeologistI agree with your comment on this being on the high end of nixon watch line. Material and finish are very good. Great price and value for what I would consider a modern casual watch.
Just for interest, looked up on Amazon and e-bay. One of the few times Massdrop has a watch much cheaper than the other sites. Between $500-$640. Good deal here.
I didn't say the deal was bad, but normal for MD ( $500-$640 on other sites is bad ).
I like the 2824 ( I joined the drop ), but many brands cut cost by using this movement and continue to overcharge for their products ( some people buy brands not watches ).
The picture in the drop looks rough. The engraving on the rotor looks poorly tooled, kind of jagged or something. The rest of the movement looks like it fell in the scrap bin and was dug out. This movement can look good enough to have a display back but this one, at least in the picture, makes me wary of buying the watch. Cover it up and what you don't know wont hurt you most likely. Maybe the picture is just bad.
I want. And your statement does not make much sense. Many expensive brands "swiss made" with history (or "history") produce watches in China in a larger or smaller part ...
It's fantastic value. That's all. Who needs history?
