It's a big watch.
Its very cool that they're carrying watches for left handed people. XD

We wear our watches on the right had so the crowns don't poke the back of our hands--as they often do on you poor, unfortunate, right-handers ;- )

I got one of these in the last drop. I like it. It is slightly heavy and beefy but fits my wrist nicely. It seems very sturdy and well built. The tide indicator is a unique feature as I love inshore fishing. It seems to be marketed towards the surfing crowd but I don't think a heavy watch is what a surfer needs to be wearing while treading water. Overall, an interesting piece to add to my collection, especially at $79.

cmrookHow does the tide complication work? Do you have to set that separately from the time? I'm looking at the NOAA website and it says that the lunar day is 50 minutes longer than the solar day. For a $79 watch surely Nixon didn't commission a special movement? I'd like to see the Nixon einzeigers in a drop. They are one of the only brands that sell einzeigers, and they are relatively cheap (being quartz). There is something to be said for getting a quartz for an einzeiger, since they are fiddly to set. Edit: Just taking a closer look at the face, generally I don't like second hands in a complication. I prefer all three hands rotating from the center. But it occurred to me that it would be cool to treat the tide hand kind of like a GMT hand, and label two opposing positions as Hi and Lo.

CloacaDirections were wrong on how to set the tide indicator. There is an adjustment pin near the crown, you push in adjustment pin for 3 seconds (until you hear it beep), then keep pushing to set tide to correct flow, then let go to set. I assume the tide indicator is simply based on a 6 hour cycle and is just an approximation.

Something about that name...just can't imagine looking down and seeing the name "NIXON" a dozen or so times a day. I think it would depress me.

Large, thick quartz with what looks to be a custom bracelet that you’ll never be able to change. All from a brand known for secretly taping conversations and breaking into complexes. Should have named it the Milhous.

WatchyoutalkingaboutI have one of these, and the bracelet is easily removed, but it's 13mm for a strap. I bought a 13mm Velcro "The Band", which widens out to an acceptable width so the watch sits fairly well. I don't mind, but it might not work for everyone. Another option I've considered is getting a leather cuff-style strap bracelet, which might also blend well. It's a huge watch, so not really for the faint of heart. I've got tiny wrists, and I can just barely make it work. Great deal though, excellent WR rating and a Swiss movement. I bought it specifically for the tide function. Lume is pretty nice.
