Glashütte: A Watchmaking Tradition
When it comes to European watchmaking, there are few towns as revered as Glashütte. It was the birthplace of watchmaking in Germany, after all, and today it’s home to a handful of the world’s most respected manufacturers. Among these is Nomos. Once a boutique operation of only a few employees, the company has grown to more than 100, and it’s no surprise why: Nomos not only produces its movements in-house but also makes nearly every other component in-house as well—save for the shell cordovan straps, which come from Horween Leather Company, in Chicago.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of six different styles: Metro Datum, Metro 38 Datum Stadtschwarz, Metro Datum Gangreserve (+ $270), Zurich (+ $700), Zurich Datum (+ $1100), or Zurich Weitzeit nachtblau (+ $1870). This drop is limited to 12 units (2 units per style).
