I'm interested but can someone explain the variations in the pens? I understand the size difference between the models, but could someone explain the variations in each model. Is it just color variations or are there other differences?
The most obvious in size difference translates to ink capacity (although that is not always the case). The other main difference is the filling mechanism. It's difficult to describe to someone who isn't familiar with fountain pens, there's plenty of videos on youtube that compares the two most similar pens (Ahab and Konrad). The creeper is like little brother of the Konrad.
But simply put, all three pens use pistons to draw ink into the pen. The Ahab's piston mechanism is contained inside and is separate from the barrel of the pen, and it has a push/pull action. Since it's separate from the barrel, some users remove the piston mechanism all together and just fill the barrel for even more ink capacity aka eye dropper conversion. (I don't recommend this for new users, if done improperly and it leaks, it's seriously a lot of ink if the whole barrel is inked up)
While Konrad and Creeper uses the piston mechanism built into the barrel. So you can compare the Konrad and Creeper to a syringe, except you twist to move the piston up and down instead of push/pull.
Also a side note to the pens, since they are made of certain material, they have a distinct smell to them. Some people don't mind it, while others like it; I couldn't stand it. The design of the pens are great, but I had to part ways with mine because of the smell.
I also would wish there is a ink ONLY drop.
