Wanted to update, I (sorta) took balefrost's advice and gave the thing gentle torque. It didn't help. Then I gave it not-so-gentle torque. After about 30 seconds of torquing the board as hard I could (seriously, I thought I was going to break it), it seems to have helped the issue. I did this a few more times and the case has leveled out. I won't admit to McRipping because the problem was not imagined, there was just a fix I was unaware of ;)
The issue of the keycaps also still stands, but it is far less noticeable than the entire board rocking. And I would still love to know how to enable/dim the backlight while wireless. Anyway, thanks for the tip above, hope it helps others.
