Cuts great. I don't know of any other option that matches the utility of this saw for its weight. The size of wood piece(s) you can cut, is only limited by your physical endurance, and/or your ability withstand or endure blisters. Of the half-dozen or so times so far I've used this saw to make firewood chuncks, all but one occurrence left me sore, with many blisters on my fingers or hands. I still bring it everytime I go backpacking.
The blister thing is not the straps fault, they are nice nylon and not rough in anyway. The torquing and repetition of the sawing movement overwhelms my office-job hands.

Slick - in more ways than one
Arrived today after a slight delay, and I am very pleased. I got the Onyx in UHMWPE, and it is very good quality and finish. I have now filled it my usual cards etc and will begin carrying it tomorrow. I am curious to see how it shapes itself to my pocket over time, and how it wears. I am hard on wallets...

dirkhdtSorry - wrong review. the Nordic Saw is Awesome! I used it as a chainsaw replacement for really high branches. I sent an arrow with a string over the branch, then pulled rope up tied to the saw. Took a bit to get it aligned, but then it cut through the hickory like butter. BTW - this is a dangerous way to use the saw, since falling branches can injure you!! Use extra caution overhead.

Got 3 of these(for me and 2 buddies). When we went camping we used Thea all the time to make lite work of clearing the area and making firewood! These are the best to have with you - in your vehicle, tool shed or bug-out bag!

This saw is even lighter than I expected, and cuts through wood (at least all the wood I’ve tried so far) like a dream. As long as you have the chain at an angle where it will stay alligned, you can butcher a tree with significantly less effort than with a traditional or folding saw, IMHO. Certainly there are limitations to this saw, such as the requirement to use both hands, but for under 5 ounces this is a downright legendary addition to your pack.

That's kinda the point of the comment. Using a knife to cut down a tree is a horrible idea, but using this to cut down a tree is an even worse idea.
