The whole point of using foil is to provide a cover over the food to keep heat and moisture inside the dish and keep it from burning. Using chainmail defeats this purpose.
foil insulates against radiant heat, and is a barrier to moisture.
chainmail would have a reduced insulation effect.
You just said what I said in different words. Why buy this when you can just poke holes in foil if you need the "benefits" of this chain mail kitchen gadget garbage?
Um...save the planet one useless chainmail cover at a time? (I dunno, I'm stretching here to find 'value'.../shrug, I give up)! :P
Another use for tin/aluminum foil is to make hats to keep out signals from our governments. We have seen a lot of that recently. Not sure if this would be an upgrade.
Ever priced a full set? This is much cheaper.
