Hey all. If you want the sequencer or piano simulation that is similar to the Launchpad Pro or The Ableton Push, then look up the software called Launchpad95. It uses Python code and is perfectly safe on the launchpad mk1 and launchpad s. I use it and it is a great (free) script...

I thought it appropriate to share this less than brief, but very thorough, walk through on how to use the new Novation Launchpad Pro. After trying to master it myself without help, I did some research and found this video. It is a bit long, but it goes step by step which I found incredibly helpful.

RGB buttons, an open firmware that allows developers to extend the functionality for free, and ~Velocity/pressure-sensitive buttons~ are all things that haven't been available on the launchpad line. If that sounds boss, then go for it.

SoundlabatlHey there Soundlabatl,
Could you post the link to the price you mentioned? I looked and couldn't find it, but if there is a chance to offer a better drop to our users I will of course see what I can do!
Thanks so much for your participation!

I've had this for about a month now, so I'll give a quick review.
If you're a producer, that produces their own shit in Ableton, and wants the additions of the original Launchpad, S, Mk2 and a lot of extra features that'll help you produce your flow in creating your own music, it's definitely worth it!
If you're using a windows PC, I wouldn't recommend it due to the poor performance and flow of Ableton on Windows machines. If you're simply interested in making, and or playing live mashups/covers you should go for the Launchpad Mk2, about 130$ cheaper but with less on side buttons and of course less features. It still has RGB and looks really cool though, adds nothing new that the Launchpad S doesn't have though.
Hope this quick review helped some of you!

My i7 breezes in ableton. "Recognizable slower on windows" that varies based on your computer so to make a bold statement of such is ill-informed and not factual. My PC runs circles around a MacBook Air. Think before you make opinionated claims.

jacob_schanerIt comes with the Lite version. Honestly I don't know how stripped down it is since I've only ever used Suite.

Check this out: http://www.controllerism.com/launchpad95-ableton-push-emulator Not sure if they've updated it, but it works wonders with my older Launchpad. Makes it into almost a Push.
