ideusNot just GMK's
Just pulled apart my laser board after seeing this(https://www.massdrop.com/talk/8873/better-switch-options/2154647), my outerspace bar is cracked half way up the stem and my Tai-hao rubber arrow keys also cracked - only keys that seem to be ok from that keyboard are my two SP DSA Granite keys I used.
KM1337I am really sorry for that. What I wonder is if MD/Kailh are doing something for these upcoming orders to be fixed. I am waiting for a replay on the issue from MD now. We all know that its customer service is not the best, but I hope the will take some corrective actions. Otherwise, these switches will be scrap.
ideusFingers crossed...
I wish we (I) would have known about this earlier, I was so stoked to get my hands on a set of Box Oranges, just got them a few weeks ago from a friend...
And now this!
ideusThis wouldnt be on MD to fix and/or handle, but rather me. I dont have exact news yet, but I will be making a post (on reddit, and possibly here if I remember), about what I find out.
mgsicklerThank you very much for your reply. Someone called Bella at Kailh has been asked about the issue as well. I'd rather wait longer for the switches if you need more time to analyze and solve the issue, than to get a bunch of faulty switches. I would never use a switch that may damage an expensive keycap set.
jchairergThe culprit of the issue is the injection mold. Coming from the same mold, any Kailh box switch may present the problem. However, It should be a multicavity mold. Each cavity may be less or more affected by the oversized cross. Therefore is understandable that a particular switch could be less or more oversized, depending the cavity its stem comes from.
