Just came in and first impressions are good! Unlike cherry blues these don't rattle and don't crunch. It clicks satisfyingly and feels solid with no rattle. I don't feel any hysteresis and I gotta say these feel closer to my co-workers unicomp than any other MX style switch Ive owned.

There is less of it. But the click is sharp and crisp so it's still noticable in a different way. Feels more solid with no rattle or scratchiness. No hystersis that I've noticed either.

Like etatauri said, the Box Pale Blues are less tactile than MX Blues but you won’t notice much of a difference in tactility unless you really pay atttention to it. The tactility is still obvious , not because it’s so tactile but because of the click. Like with any clicky switch, the click is what points out the tactility to you. With noise cancelling headphones, MX blues are about as tactile as MX Browns (not very) but the click makes them seem more tactile than they are.

So these wont have the same stem twist issues right? We really dont want to end up with a randomly crooked switches after soldering.
dghwThat’s correct. It’s only on the BOX brown and Burnt Orange.
I was trying to beat everyone here with the comment about the BOX Burnt Orange switches. They arent offered on this drop, or on my site, because of a slight issue with the way the stem rested in the housing. On a very small percentage of switches it caused slight stem twist.
I have talked to Kailh about my concerns, and that is where we are currently at with these switches. Hope that clears up any confusion!

how do these compare to the navy blue box switches?

Must be a mistake, the clickbar on the Navy is way stronger than the clickbar on the Pale Blue - so it would be happening with the Navy not the Pale Blue. And no it never even comes close to happening with the Navy, but it *does* happen with the Jade (not in this drop), because the Jade have the thick clickbar but only have the Box White 50g spring. You can see this in Haata's force graph for the Jade, the force curve on the way up reaches zero briefly.

Hari_SeldonA major part of it also seems to be the stabs used being super tight. There were reviews of people on /r/mk that say the spring is not the issue (despite it reaching 0 on the curve at one point) but that the spring cannot push all the way back up with tighter stabs, something a little lubing can fix. The issue seems to primarily be with the spacebar, although it can happen to any stabilized key. Never heard of it happening on non-stabilized keys.

I installed my Pale Blues on my DasKeyboard yesterday. What a fantastic switch, especially for the price! They're extremely smooth, almost on the same level as ALPS SKCC switches, and the weighting is absolutely perfect. Of course, the sound is way, way nicer than the horrible rattly plasticy noise that MX Blues make, and although these Pale Blues aren't really much more tactile than standard MX Blues, the tactility is extremely clean and precise: a massive improvement over Cherry's click jacket design. The lack of keycap wobble is really nice too; the keys feel very solid with these switches installed. I think Kailh's click-bar switches are about as good as a clicky MX mount switch can get given the limitations of the MX design. ALPS tactile and clicky switches are still way more tactile, but these Pale Blues finally give me a clicky switch option for my Cherry MX compatible keyboards that isn't completely awful. In fact, I really enjoy typing on these things!

Thanks for sharing this. Are they high pitched like Cherry blues or do they have a deeper click like Alps blues? It's a little hard to tell from the video.

MacclackActually, they’re even higher pitched than Cherry Blues. I only have experience with White ALPS, but these sound nothing like any ALPS switch I’ve tried and the click is totally different from White ALPS. However, I personally think these Box Pale Blues sounds really good; it’s a very crisp and clean click, and they click on both the downstroke and upstroke. For reasons I can’t explain, the sound just makes me smile :-) They aren’t as loud as ALPS click switches either.

@mgsickler I saw someone on reddit mention that BOX Navy's are coming back soon. Can you confirm?

That's good to hear, looking to pick up a few of those at some point. Like the Whites and Pale Blues, but they're still a little on the light side.

Soooo. I ordered 220 pale blue, and I'm finding from what I see that navies are way more what I am looking for. I need 168 switches - any chance of getting a trade from you?

Do I want box jade over heavy pale blue, I guess is the question. *shrugs* I realllly dig on the thick click sound and idea of increased tactility - but I also notice that the heavy pale blue were the quietest of the series, which given where I sit in the house could be its own advantage. But ... IDK. I mean, if I could just pick sight unseen, I'd still go navy - but now I have this set to sell lol.

I just rebuilt a 75% keyboard with pale blues. They are the best clicky switch I've ever used. They sound and feel incredible. Other clicky switches seem high pitched and whiny in comparison.

yanfaliI have a sample box white and holy moly the sound of the click vs an mx blue is drastic. The clickbar is definitely the way to go. Joined the pale blue drop. For anyone wondering, you save around $3-6 if you don't mind the shipping time.
My first cheapo mech keeb had outemu blues and they weren't awful but I certainly got tired of it over time; which is a shame because I love the click.
TanvirK175Clickbars are so much better than click jackets.

I just made the switch from Cherry Greens to these Dark Yellows. The box dark yellows are freaking amazing. I can't hype them up enough.

They're linear, so I think the sound mostly depends on which plate and caps you're using. Playing with a switch by itself right now and it's mostly silent except for a slight thock when it gets back to the top. I will say that it sounds absolutely amazing on my planck with ice caps.
