Hey guys!
I have been working with Zambumon on this deskpad for a little while now. Zambumon did all the design work on this, and I think that these deskpads turned out great. The colors and design look excellent. So if you like the look of this, make sure to send out a thanks to Zambumon!
Shipping info
- Yes, shipping is expensive on these deskpads. They weigh around 2 pounds shipped. These are actual costs, and are not inflated anyways. Sorry that some of you will be upset about this, but there isnt really a better way to change any of that at this time.
- Yes, some other items that are also heavy cost less to ship. I cant speak for every item, but I can tell you that a lot of times the price of shipping is subsidized into the cost of the product. I don't do that, and I like to be as transparent as possible on this.
Updates
- October 4, 2018 - All packages have been shipped. Drop complete.
- September 25, 2018 - First batch of deskpads have arrived. I will start boxing these up. They will all be shipped out on October 4, 2018.
- August 7, 2018 - Deskpads have been shipped out to me. Shipping can take around 45 days.
- August 1, 2018 - Deskpads are almost completed with production. They will ship out to me soon. Shipping can take up to 45 days to get to me.
I sincerely doubt that they are of the same quality.
Don't steal artwork/designs, that's such a scummy thing to do. Don't be that guy.
The mousemat is heavy because its large and thick, why else?
These will be worth it. For 15$ this is a steal. If 15$ is alot to you...
In short, if you want some cheapo tao bao ass mousemat then go over there and stop bitching.
mgsicklerI have the Laser one at home and I love it -- got the Serika themed one for work.
Thanks for these, seriously, they are amazing.
Gonna need Laser to run one more time though, mine has some minor imperfections, and honestly I just need one backup!
Ah, thats cool. New to Custom Mechanical Keyboards then.
As mgsickler pointed out, that 3.5 month time frame isnt just for shipping, it includes manufacturing lead times and also takes into account any foreseeable delays in the process.
In the high-end custom keyboard community (of which NovelKeys is very much a part of) this is completely normal, and to be expected. I will admit it takes some time to get used to, but thats the reality of the current state of the community.
In any case, these are some of the thickest & highest quality deskmats available on the market. Good things take time, and usually are worth the wait.
If it were true for me then that wouldn't be a problem but there are multiple options (single colour/same size) in the low £20's whereas this with shipping to UK ends up being around £37.
RyanWThat would fall under comparable, imo.
Keep in mind that NovelKeys isnt a huge online retailer that ships enough packages (millions and millions) to qualify for reduced shipping rates, like amazon for instance. They also dont subsidize their shipping costs (or simply jack up the cost of the item itself, and lower shipping costs accordingly). So in reality the shipping rate you are seeing, is literally the cost to ship the product.
That is the downside of retailer honesty/integrity, as they choose to be transparent and not mislead customers about costs, despite the fact they know they will face backlash from customers who dont understand this.
Also, most single color mats arent as thick, or as high quality... and its a single color mat.
LOL ! How heavy can a mouse mat be ??? I can get high quality CUSTOM made ones from Taobao for less than 30$ including shipping.....mouse mats on Mass Drop are such fail...because of the shipping price....I was like seriously what the fuck when I saw the shipping fee.....
It's huge and heavy?
Well for 14USD, I could purchase shipping for rigid titanium stool from massdrop with dimensions of 14.6in x 10.2in x 0.8in when compacted, totalling 119.136 cubic inches.
Here, a malleable piece of rubber and cloth with dimensions of 35.4in x 15.7in x 0.16in costs more than double that, despite only being 88.9248 cubic inches.
So, the argument "It's huge and heavy" doesn't really appear to make much sense.
KarisThe QcK limited should be smoother but overall, they feel more or less the same, the only difference is that the gaming companies often advertise the material as "revolutionary" for gaming.
I'm obviously biased, as I've done the designs for these deskmats, but given the size, thickness, quality, and the custom designs (Godspeed, Laser, Miami, Camping...) and considering the pricing, if given a choice between one of these and the Qck I'd always pick the Novelkeys one.

One of the extras I wanted to offer for Serika was a desk mat as well as a nice custom packaging. So from the very beginning I started workin on a design that would not only work well with Serika, but witn many other keysets, and here is the result of that work. We are offering two variants: Serika and Hexagon Dark.
Serika has been specifically designed for the GMK set, but it also looks great with many other sets such as Godspeed, Chocolatier, Nautilus, or Canvas.
Hexagon Dark works better with dark, or grey sets, such as Oblivion, Pulse, or even Carbon.
ZambumonAny suggestions on a nice deep blue navy keyboard or 60% case to go with Serika keyset? I like your renders with I believe are the CA66 and Rama M60A but I can't get my hands on either of those right now.
