Youtube is full of great soldering tutorials. Just get a decent soldering iron (as suggested) and don't be afraid. I haven't grilled a single component since I started hobby electronics. Everything you solder can be de-soldered :)
Once this thing went through German customs (early 2016 maybe) I can make a video of the soldering process ... in case anyone's still interested then.

WodanGerman customs sound much more efficient than Danish customs, but I guess that's why Germany's are renowned for efficiency.
