Drop Mech Keys Meetup Recap - Thanks for Visiting!
As you may have seen, we just hosted our first meetup in quite a while here at Drop HQ (Corsair HQ, but they seem to like us enough :) )! It was a blast to get to meet so many enthusiasts local to the bay area—it had been 10 years since I was last hanging out with keyboard nerds in the bay, at KeyCon 2014. We had a great time hosting everyone at the offices, checking out all the very nice boards y'all brought, and sharing some of our own projects/spaces! I knew it would be fun to host in the Game Room when I first saw it in person, but seeing it come to fruition was still so cool. Alright, I'll stop blabbering on now. xD Picture time! (Oh, real quick - there will be more of these! Stay tuned for more info and to catch the next one!)

The problem is with ENTER and + keys, and the PCB as shown in the photo. The actual PCB may not be the same (Alex's sample is different). In order for the Costar stabilizers to fit, the two key switches need to be installed "sideways" - with the LED either to the left or the right of the plunger. The stabilizer bar will cross over the LED hole. In the photo posted earlier, the LEDs are all below the plunger. This works for 0 but not for ENTER and +. I verified this with both Gateron and Cherry MX switches.
Another problem is that LEDs cannot be installed on keys with stabilizers. I checked the clearance with both 3mm flangeless and 2x3x4 rectangular LEDs. I don't have any 1.8mm LEDs to check with, unfortunately.
( Edit : It might be that there are LED compatible Costar stabilizer wires. WASD does not list them, but online photos of the WASD Code keyboard shows a slightly different wire. Or it might have something to do with the offset of the Costar slot mentioned earlier. )
The parts are available from WASD. You need 3 sets of the tabs, the plate inserts, and the metal spring. Total cost comes out to be $4.50 + shipping per numpad, and WASD has a minimum order of $5 I believe.
