Hey guys, is it fair to assume that the DAC should be set to max volume with primary volume controlled by my Amp? Just want to make sure. Cheers!

Thank you very much for the detailed reply. I think I caught most of it. lol. I'll set my DAC to 100% and Windows audio to 100%, then control the volume with my amp's analogue control. Cheers!

I haven't truly confirmed this with myself (as trying A/B test by myself isn't as effective as A/B test blindfolded), but maxing my windows volume with my current motherboard sounded blurry and muffled at the low freq, high freq, and everything in between. My conclusion was maxing windows volume approached the power supply rails on the motherboard, causing distortions within the amp on the motherboard. It wasn't severe though as I haven't confirmed it with myself. But I didn't see any real harm keeping the volume below say 80% just to be safe.
Side note: Your computer motherboard may not have this issue. Anyone else mind giving me their 2 cents on my theory? Am I crazy or speak some possible truth?
Edit :Suppose my statement is only valid though for the analog output of the motherboard.
