I often see disclaimers at the bottom of descriptions (not this item) that say things like, "Due to customs seizures, international orders only." Customs doesn't seize legitimate items, so that leads me to believe that some items are counterfeit or stolen, and I doubt it's the latter. What is the reasoning for this disclaimer?

I think you should redirect this question to Support , especially considering this item (according to you) doesn't have a disclaimer, so yeah. just ask support i bet they would love to explain it.

There are very legitimate rumors the Massdrop often buys from non-approved vendors who get their supply either through buying used/refurbrished products and reselling them, or in other unknown ways. Like I said these are just rumors (though ones that may sound to some people truthful), so please Massdrop don't sue me.

Rumors = Talks with no ground.
You don't have to shop here , but don't spend your time here just to hurt their business.

Do you have a source for this very serious allegation?

I searched through the Massdrop website, and every item i've found that has a disclaimer about custom seizures involves knives shipped internationally. I believe a lot of countries have stricter rules regarding import of weapons, and that's probably the reason.
