This is my first pair of a high-end IEM. I've never experienced this clear high, rich mid and solid base at the same time. It's such a pleasure to listen day to day!

It's an amazing IEM given it's price. Tight bass, full vocal, but just little lack the upper high. But the missing part is not that bad because it keeps you engage more in the melody. My former prime IME was Westone UM 10 Pro, and FiiO F9 Pro. Besides, I also occasionally use 1More Triple and Shure SE215 SE. 1More Triple gives more upper high and too loose bass, Shure SE215 is too warm, FiiO F9 Pro lacks the sweet mid. Only Westone UM 10 Pro is closer but bass is little lacking. Primo 8 gives me the most of the sound. In short, it is similar to OPPO PM-3 in the headphone counterpart.

Thank you so much for your very kind and honest opinion. I haven't tried UM Pro 30 yet but Pro 20 for about 15 mins. I understand that they can't be comparable but I can get the sense of what you are talking about. I think I should try Pro 30 soon. Anyway, recently I purchased Massdrop Plus and it simply changes everything. It is such a balanced, musical, and fun IEM. Interesting part is, a lot of people compares Andromeda to it and none said it is better but they think it is very close. Again, if I understand you correctly, you're implying that UM Pro 30 is as nice sounding as (if not better) Andromeda. So, I am taking that as a high appreciation towards UM Pro 30. It definitely provokes me to give it a try. Thanks again.

phaysaalWell, I wouldn't say that the UM Pro 30's are quite as good as the Andromedas, just that they're really nicely balanced sounding too, at least IMO! The UM Pro 30's are no comparison in the soundstage and imaging department, nor do they have the wonderful high-end extension that the Andromedas possess, but for over half of the price, the UM Pro 30 IEM's are a great value, with great sound!
I've been wanting to try the MD+ IEM's too. Those seem to be selling like hotcakes, and I love their design to fit the ear more comfortably. They're probably more comfortable than the Andromedas. Those can be weird fitting depending on your ear size and the cables being used, however they sound so good that I completely overlook their fit issues, and with the VMODA Sport Ear Hooks, they fit great with my Westone APT-X and Sony MUC-M2BT1 LDAC Bluetooth cables. Might order a second pair of those to use with my Linum G2 SuperBax and Bax MMCX Cables when using the Andromedas, since I haven't been using the stock CA/ALO SPC Litz cable as much as the Linum cables. But when using the Andromedas with the CA/ALO cable that came with them, they stay in my ears MUCH better

Not too bad, Different types of sound. I do not like it. But worth its money. Has to say, 1) Sense of hearing is worse than DT990 Pro 250ohm (same price) driven by PC without amp. Maybe it is not fair to compare it with a large dynamic headphone as usages can be very different. 2) Details are less than KZ AS10, only from my perspective, but sound more neutral. 3) QUALITY IS SHIT! FALLING PAINT!!!

Having come from the BeatsX Wireless In-Ear Headphones , and being new to NuForce, I was pleasantly surprised by the sound of these Primo8 Earphones. I have always been a fan of monitor headphones, those without exaggerated spikes at various frequencies. I am now using the HIFIMAN HE-400I and HD 598SE headphones for most of my music, however these Primo8 earphones have now entered the mix, and I am loving the sound. Santana, ACDC, Grateful Dead, Yo-yo Ma, Jazz, Classical, Rock, etc, everything I throw at it sounds good.

The sound is very good, clear, and the soundstage also. This is an in-ear monitors for whom listen to classical, vocals and looking for clearance, separation. The bass is not much, I personally find it is enough for me. But it will be lacked if you are not familiar with bright IEMs and expect a very deep and big amount of bass. Pop, Instrumental, Acoustic: Thumbs up EDM, Dance, Rock with a lot of bass: Thumbs down Build quality: It is REALLY BAD, believe me. Despite the fancy box and accessories, the paint started to chip off after 2 months and the channels of the stock cable were SWAPPED and I have to switch them ???? , this is NOT ACCEPTABLE for a 500 USD IEMs. I intend to get it re-shell to custom by AAW when the paint chip off more than I can suffer. Last words: Is this IEMs worth the money?? For 139 or 149 USD on Massdrop: YES, highly recommended (That's why I gave 4 stars). For 500 USD (original price): NO because of the build quality.

The headphones are awesome in terms of sound but the quality is seriously lacking. Received these on February 16th and the cables are now is exposed. The sound now distorts in each ear with the cables having to be moved to resolve. For what is being labeled as High Def quality earphones you expect that at least 6 months of operation to be something that can be achieved. I have been looking for a replacement cable with no clear alternative that ensures that they are both compatible and able to provide the sound with no loss of quality.

Skylar77I have finally found a good cable replacement. It's the Fiio RC-MMCX3S, which is also bundled with their F9 Pro IEMs. It fits securely to the earphones, has no noticeable microphonics, has a decent mic and a 3-button remote with volume adjustment buttons that work with many Android phones. One caveat is the length; I'd like it to be a bit longer (it's only 1.2 m long). There is also a balanced model for the same price (RC-MMCX3B), but it obviously doesn't come with mic and remote control.

Skylar77Also, I thought that I should mention this to any NEW NuForce users/buyers. I've had EVERY pair of my Nuforce IEM's break on me more than once! The first pair I bought brand new from MD around Christmas last year [EDC IEM's] were broken and had a blown DD within two hours of listening to them. Got a replacement pair and sold those when they were working shortly after getting the replacement pair, because they didn't have a high enough sensitivity and low enough impedance for my listening wants and needs. Got a pair of the HEM 2's, broken and blown drivers AS SOON AS I used those. Just threw those away honestly because they sounded like garbage and didn't even want a replacement pair or sell something that terrible sounding to anyone else. Then the first pair of Primo 8's I bought brand new/unopened on eBay were blown IMMEDIATELY after opening them. Got another New [but opened box, thanks again for that, NuForce] of them straight from NuForce on Amazon, and those were blown after barely using them recently. Got a replacement pair about 1 month ago and sold them on eBay before I opened them. And NuForce will give you a replacement pair and are good about that, but it takes over a month to get them usually, and they are only so willing to keep giving you replacement's because they know their products [at least their IEM's], are JUNK IMO :( I am NOT listening at loud volumes, and I'm listening to my LIVE recordings I make with my own Schoeps mics and Sound Devices recorders, which have WAY LOWER levels/volume than regular albums and music do. So there's NO reason why they kept breaking and blowing out on me. If you ask me, they're JUNK CHI-FI products with TERRIBLE Quality Control. I wouldn't buy another pair of these, or ANY NuForce products EVER AGAIN, if they were $20, or hell, even FREE to me!

Great sound, very precise and fast bass, natural mids, smooth treble. I listen mainly to classical music and a bit of rock and metal, and the IEMs really shine. Easy to drive, and they sound great even with my HTC 10 smartphone. One drawback is that the IEMs seem to struggle a bit when it comes to dynamics (they sound less natural in these conditions).
Nice packaging.
The main downside is the bundled cable: first, it has its channels swapped, i.e. the red mark on the cable is on the left side; second, its right-side connector is insecure, so there are pops and crackles. Didn't experience this when tried a Shure cable. The cable tends to tangle and has noticeable microphonics. The mic/remote is positioned awkwardly. In one phrase, I'm now in the market for a decent MMCX cable with mic/remote and an angled jack.
The second issue is that the paint on the earphones started to chip off after a couple of months. That's a shame, because the IEMs look really nice while the paint is in place, and now they make an impression of a cheap product, which they are not.

Sound is not very wide or dynamic. Ear piece keeps driving it's way out of the ear as large as it is. Worst thing about them is the quality. Connection on right ear piece pops and crackles. I can get rid of it by twisting it but the layout of the cable as it wraps around the ear puts it into the same spot that has the issue. All in all I regret the purchase. Would not likely buy any ear bud again thru massdrop.

To me Primo8 is an odd IEM that gives me mixed feelings. The sound is smooth and natural with wonderful highs, and excellent comfort. But this all is let down by their miles-from-neutral frequency balance. There's an obvious mid-frequency boost or 'honk'. I've verified this by comparing to other IEMs (Ultimate Ears UE800 and HifiMan RE-100), full-size headphones (HiFiman X V2 and Sennheiser Momentum) and the Genelec monitors in my home studio. This IEM has so strong a voice of its own that it must be by design! Or could this be just the shape of my ears or something? I'm puzzled, especially knowing how good other reviewers have found Primo8 to be.
I can of course tame the mids with eq (I'm using Equalizer APO) with a whopping -6 dB at 600 Hz and quite a wide curve / low Q. Taking the 'honk' out reveals a super-nice sounding IEM which I actually like a lot. But of course using a software eq on Windows stops me from using the bit-perfect, exclusive mode in Tidal. Due to this odd voicing I can only give two stars.
And yes I've run them them in for over 100 hours and fiddled with different tips. Foam vs. silicone gave different bass results but to me had no effect on mids.

Simply outstanding sound, let down slightly by peeling paint on the earphones and a difficult fit. Indeed, their sound is SO good that overlooking these flaws is exceptionally easy to do.
