Mine were DOA, and optoma support was extremely frustrating as they insisted that hem4s were an adequate replacemen.
Be careful with this one

Mine were faulty out of the box too. I requested an upgrade to the HEM6, which I had my eye on, and the rep said I could simply pay the difference in cost ($100). It was all very quick, taking scarcely more time than the shipping, and I've been very pleased with the HEM6 as an adequate (if wildly different sounding) replacement. Additionally, I was contacted by a second Optoma rep who offered a different option to get me a replacement unit. I was very impressed with the customer service.

I think the service team was trying to find you a fast solution. We are now arranging a new batch of Primo8s so we can swap your DOA to a new pair. -Jyri/NuForce
